Jessica Lee Stovall, a current fellow in the Department of African American Studies, has published a piece in Volume 113 of the English Journal titled “Black Teachers’ Use of Liberatory Design to Promote Literacies of Healing” in which she 
discusses the importance of Black teachers and why many Black teachers are leaving the classroom. Stovall, the need for a healing, joyful, and healthy space for both students and educators within the education system.
