We’re hiring: Associate Professor in African American Studies

The Department of African American Studies is seeking excellent candidates for an Associate Professor (tenured) position in the area of 20th-century African American History. We are particularly interested in applicants with interests in women’s history and/or internationalism. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory survey courses and advanced courses related to the area of specialization; conducting scholarly research; and performing University and community service as appropriate.

Candidates should demonstrate evidence of creativity and excellence in teaching and scholarly research. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster a teaching, learning, mentoring, departmental, and research environment where all can thrive.

Required: PhD in History, American Studies, or similar.
