Professor Sandra Adell joined African American Studies senior Jnae Thompson and International Visiting Scholar Yujie Cao at UW-Madison’s 2024 Gender and Women’s Studies Conference: Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future: Resilience and Reclamation in Higher Education.
Dr. Adell participated in the panel discussion “Black Women’s Narratives of Struggle, Resistance and Change” and presented on “The Women of the Combahee River Collective”. Yujie Cao presented her research entitled “A Dream Deferred: Resilience of African American Women in Gloria Naylor’s Novels”. Jnae Thompson presented on “The Art and Activism of Lorraine Hansberry and Nina Simone”.
